Introduction to the Map Inventory
The LDEQ GIS Center has made thousands of maps and other products over the years. Many of these products are archived on a computer system that LDEQ staff may now browse gigabytes of map images and search a database containing details about layers in each map, the map author, customer requesting the map, notes, comments. The map product archives attached to this web site include products authored between January 1, 1999-present. Most of these products are maps in Adobe PDF format, and many of these PDF files are very large (up to several hundred megabytes). A smaller JPEG format file is provided.

However, not all maps in the achives are available in JPEG or PDF file format. Some maps were authored with a previous version of ArcView (and/or with now unsupported and unavailable library datasets), and it may currently be too expensive to reproduce such maps electronically.

Complete Map Archives Categorized by Year
Records presented in this section of the map inventory are categorized by year and sorted by "map number". Click on a year at the top of each page, and a record is displayed for all of the map products authored that year. Click on the page numbers below the year to browse thru each page or maps. Each record displayed includes a thumbnail, map title, and the customer who requested the map product.

SEARCH Map Archives
This section of the map inventory is simply a search form that allows you to perform a keyword search thru the entire map inventory database. If the keyword(s) entered is found in any filed of the database, the result set is generated as above--each record displayed includes a thumbnail, map title, and the customer who requested the map product.

The map inventory database includes the following fields: map number, date completed, a project code, map author, customer requesting the map, the customers office-division-section, data sources included in the map, map size, and comments.

GIS Center Service Request Form
LDEQ staff may submit a request new map products by completing the on-line form on the intranet. Staff are instructed to download and print this form then deliver it to Joe Holmes. Click here to download the GIS service request form.
